Telephone engineer is part of the practical family

It is not news to anyone that my mind works in bizarre ways. The twists and turns through my thought processes are the kind of thing that one sees in a book of mazes created to amuse children at a doctor’s office.  This is incredibly frustrating for the rest of my family, who are made up of two accountants and a telephone engineer. The math skills and upper level of analytical thinking that they encounter on daily basis boggles my mind.  They tried explain the various aspects of their jobs to me, but all I remember is that telecommunications relies heavily on a working knowledge of design, electrical engineering, problem solving and physics. I really tried to follow it, but in my head all of the information jumbled around in my head and I couldn’t keep my glassy eyed stare focused on anything but the numbers my dad was writing on the giant chalkboard that is in our house.  That’s the kind of people we are, there is a huge chalkboard in our house.
